ROY'S DINER

Last weekend we were in Anderson, SC, for an estate sale and to check out the thrift stores in that area. During our travels we passed Roy's Diner and the parking lot was packed (the photo above is around 2:30 pm after the lunch rush). Going by the old adage "Eat where the parking lot's full" we decided to give Roy's Diner a try and were completely pleased with our meals.

I had turkey and dressing with giblet gravy, fresh corn, baked macaroni and cheese and strawberry delight.

My wife also had the turkey and dressing and fresh corn, she chose black-eye peas (seasoned well) and pineapple creme cake for her other two sides.

Both meals came with choice of beverage and bread, all of this for a cost of only $7.00 a plate - NO WONDER the parking lot was full. You don't often find such a bargain, especially considering everything was fresh (not canned or frozen) and delightfully delicious. I'm rarely in Anderson, but you can bet if I am, I'll be heading back to Roy's Diner.
